Although supportive of the IOT, after reviewing the Transport Assessment accompanying the application, BPARA submitted concerns about the absence of parking provision on-site for students to MK Council Planning Department and West Bletchley Council. The latter had no objection to this application “subject to the College confirming it will review its proposed arrangements for onsite parking for students.”
MK Council’s Development Control Committee Report fully documented BPARA’s concerns regarding lack of parking provision and stated a condition should be imposed on any consent issued that requires a Travel Plan to be submitted to and approved in writing by MK Council.
Although the application has now been approved and construction work has started, BPARA has not yet had sight of the approval letter to see whether any conditions have been attached to the consent. The IOT is now known as the South-Central Institute of Technology, and BPARA attended an event to celebrate “Driving the First Pile” on 20 January.
