Dear Ms Kirk,
Application Number 11/02387/MK COD3 Land to the rear of 73-89 Whalley Drive
Members of the BPARA, as well as patients of the GP practice, are still very concerned about access to the proposed bungalow. As we have stated before, the drive from Whalley Drive to the Parkside Medical Centre is narrow, barely wide enough for two cars to pass. There is a sharp right turn into the car park. If access to the bungalows is to be via the gate opening on to the land owned by Milton Keynes Council, it will be difficult for drivers exiting the Centre car park to see vehicles leaving the access road to the bungalow, and vice versa. The situation will be particularly difficult whilst building is in progress and larger vehicles need to reach the site. It would be sensible for council officers to come to some arrangement with the Medical Centre to re-align the entrances to the existing car park and the access road to the bungalow to allow more room for manoeuvre. We understand that no response has been received to a suggestion along these lines from the Medical Centre.
We hope that serious consideration will be given to this issue before the application is given final approval.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs C.R. Simpson Hon Secretary, BPARA
