Temporary Closure (Mini-Roundabouts located at the junctions of Buckingham Road/Sherwood Drive and Water Eaton Road, Bletchley)
Please be advised that I have received a request from Adam Marciniak (MKC) for the temporary closure of the mini roundabout and parts of Buckingham Road, Sherwood Drive and Water Eaton Road under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 in order to carry out resurfacing works on the roads and roundabout.
The closure will be night closures on each night of the 15th, 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th May 2012 during the hours of 10.00pm and 6.00am (every night)
- Buckingham Road will be closed from its junction with the V7 Saxon Street to its junction with Church Green Road
- Sherwood Drive will be closed from its junction with Buckingham Road to its junction with the southern entrance to Milton Keynes College
- Water Eaton Road will be closed from its junction with Buckingham Road to its junction with Wellington Place
Whilst the above roads are closed the alternative routes will be as follows;
- From Water Eaton Road (eastbound) to Buckingham Road & Central Bletchley: Via Duncombe Street
- From Water Eaton Road (westbound) to Buckingham Road: Via Duncombe Street, V6 Saxon Street, V6 Watling Street, H8 Standing Way & Buckingham Road
- From Water Eaton Road (northbound) to Sherwood Drive & Old Bletchley (Milton Keynes College/Bletchley Station): Via Duncombe Street, V6 Saxon Street, V6 Watling Street, H8 Standing Way, Buckingham Road, Rickley Lane, Whalley Drive & Sherwood Drive
- From the Brunel Roundabout (westbound) to Water Eaton Road: Via Duncombe Street
- From the Brunel Roundabout (westbound) to Bucking Road & West Bletchley: Via Duncombe Street, V6 Saxon Street, V6 Watling Street, H8 Standing Way & Buckingham Road
- From the Brunel Roundabout (westbound) to Sherwood Drive & Old Bletchley (Milton Keynes College/Bletchley Station): Via Duncombe Street, V6 Saxon Street, V6 Watling Street, H8 Standing Way & Buckingham Road
- From Buckingham Road (eastbound) to Water Eaton Road: Via Church Green Road, Rickley Lane, Whalley Drive, Whaddon Way, V6 Watling Street, V7 Saxon Street and Duncombe Street
- From Buckingham Road (eastbound) to Sherwood Drive & Old Bletchley (Milton Keynes College/Bletchley Station): Via Church Green Road, Rickley Lane, Whalley Drive and Sherwood Drive
- From Buckingham Road (eastbound) to Central Bletchley: Via Church Green Road, Rickley Lane, Whalley Drive, Whaddon Way, V6 Watling Street, V7 Saxon Street
The road closures and alternative routes will be signed in accordance with Chapter 8 of the Traffic Signs manual.
Bus Services and Emergency Service vehicles will have access at all times during the closure.
Please be advised of the following; The closures will start at 8pm for general traffic however buses will be allowed through the site until 10pm access by buses through the site between 8pm and 10pm will be controlled by gatemen.
Emergency Services will be allowed access at all times during the Closure.
The pedestrian crossing should be ready to be built within the next 4-8 weeks.
