The Parking Survey for properties deemed by MK Council to be within a 15 minute walk of the Rail Station produced 381 responses (this equates to 44% return rate) as follows:
Option 1 – 26 (7%) Residents Parking Permit
Option 2 – 18 (5%) Residents Parking Place/Area (i.e. a particular section of road)
Option 3 – 196 (51%) Short Stay Parking (i.e. no parking between 11am and 1pm)
Option 4 – 141 (37%) Don’t support any of the above options
In any given road/section of road, MK Council requires a 70% return rate with 50% in favour of any options before any changes made. The following roads met this criteria:
Whalley Drive (between Rickley Lane & Westminster Drive)
Church Green Road (between Rickley Lane & The Elms)
Elmers Park & Travis Grove
The next step is for MK Council to formally consult with residents of the above roads.
In addition, MK Council are considering the implementation of parking charges for the Sherwood Drive car park and the on-street parking outside of the Rail Station. Such a scheme would result in displacement of parking to neighbouring streets already impacted by commuter parking. MK Council will be consulting with residents to seek their views.
However, the above proposed measures only scratch the surface of parking issues in our area. Both the Central Bletchley & West Bletchley Community Forums (organised by Thames Valley Police) and BPARA receive more complaints regarding parking than any other matter. Within the Bletchley & Fenny Stratford Town Council area, a Parking Forum has been set up for Bletchley East Ward, and the Council has invited the public to make their views known about the parking issues in Queensway by completing their Parking Survey at:

The last Parking Review for West Bletchley was almost 10 years ago. Parking provision is currently inadequate for residents, and others including Bletchley College students, patrons of The Eight Belles & Pasha restaurant, and those attending St Mary’s Church and Rectory Cottages. The situation will get worse once East/West Rail comes to Bletchley, and new housing developments spring up both within and outside our area.
BPARA has requested that West Bletchley Council set up a Parking Sub-Committee to consider the above issues.
