“A circular to contacts, causes I work with, family and others
Last night I was appointed Chairman of Thames Valley Police Community Forum (West Bletchley) This is not something I was in anyway anticipating. I simply went along to the meeting as a local council member to support the police. When a new chairman was needed my name was put forward and I was elected unopposed. I will be proud to serve and can assure everyone that I will be an active and engaging chairman.
In day to day terms this will not affect the work I am already doing while in some areas it may enhance activities. As you may know I am working with senior police officers to set up a city-wide drug and knife-crime project in schools. I believe my new position will enhance such. The forum has decided, prior to my taking over as chair, that drugs, knife-crime and anti-social behaviour are of priority. I agree but would say that all three are very closely linked.
I do not intend to be just a name on a piece of paper, I will be very active. I want this forum to be the eyes and ears within our community supporting Thames Valley Police as we identify crime, work to reduce crime and prevent new incidents of crime. I will be reaching out to the 25,000+ residents the forum covers, to schools, community groups and businesses in our area. I will throughout be celebrating and supporting the work of Thames Valley Police.
Watch this space.
