BPARA continues to lobby MK Council to enforce the Section 215 notice against Bletchley Park Capital Partners (BPCP), owners of the Old Canteen and G Block. The inadequate hoarding around the latter has fallen down leaving the site exposed – it also needs to be erected inside the G Block perimeter. However, MK Council’s Conservation Officer has advised that he is in discussion with BPCP, and the owners of the Cricket Pavilion site, regarding the sustainable development of these sites, although proposals are not yet in the public domain. He had requested that BPCP contact BPARA to address our concerns, but nothing has happened!
West Bletchley Council (WBC) have expressed their concerns and invited BPCP to attend the Planning & Environment Committee meeting on 9 March. Tim Reynolds (BPCP) was unable to attend due to a prior engagement. He agreed to meet Helen Hupton, Clerk to Council, within a week to discuss the impending sale of G Block and the Old Canteen, with full information being available in 90 days’ time – BPCP has failed to arrange a meeting! In the meantime, WBC is closely monitoring both sites.
However, as reported on the MK Citizen website and in the business pages of the Times 200411, the site is up for sale, with offers in the region of between £4m and £6m sought. We are following up whether the sale includes the Old Canteen.
