Message from MK Council
We have identified a weeping willow in the park next to West Bletchley Sensory Garden on Church Green Road which due to significant decay and its location next to a busy footpath, we have unfortunately decided needs to be felled for health and safety reasons. Due to the size and prominence of the tree we anticipate that this will cause some enquiries/complaints from the public and wanted to make you aware in advance in case you receive any comments or queries from local residents. We have also felled a couple of other smaller trees in this park recently for similar health and safety reasons.
We plan to put up some signage in the park before the removal of the willow takes place to make passers-by aware of the situation, as we know many of the people using the park are regulars. We also plan to prioritise this location to plant replacement trees nearby in due course. We don’t take felling trees lightly, particularly mature ones such as in this case but unfortunately there are occasions in the interests of public safety when it cannot be avoided.
