BPARA members attended a briefing on 20 September at Bletchley Park when Iain Standen, CEO, shared plans for the former Teleprinter Building and Blocks A & E, and gave us the opportunity to view some of the changes that have already taken place. These three buildings were previously leased to external organisations but have now been taken back by Bletchley Park Trust.
The Trust has now submitted a planning application to MK Council which includes:
- Change of use of Diesel House from a mower shed to Museum as entrance of new Lecture Theatre with cloakroom, flexible events space and reception
- Change of use from offices to Museum of Block E North & East wings for use as Learning Centre, including single storey building east of the North wing to become the reception
- Demolition of a small post-war section of the west wing of Block E to make way for the construction of a new double storey Lecture Theatre.
