Benjamin Greenwold, representative of the owners of Block G, (formerly part of Bletchley Park) and also of the Wartime Canteen in Wilton Avenue, has advised that Block G has been selected as a location for some filming of Pennyworth during week commencing 15 November for a new 10 part series rooted in the DC Graphic Novels Universe.
Benjamin has advised “This is a test project to understand if the site can be used in such a way from time to time prior to any material improvements to the site. As such we have been working hard behind the scenes in the last few weeks to put in place elements of the contract to ensure our neighbours are carefully considered throughout. Our Community Management Team at Places Made will be on call throughout the period, to answer any questions, or deal with any issues should they arise. Emma James at Places Made will also liaise with an onsite community liaison officer from the production company who will be at Block G throughout the period the production team are on site. After the filming is complete, Emma will also compile a small report for me to review, highlighting any challenges that might have arisen that would need consideration for any further filming in the future.”

Benjamin has written to residents in the area surrounding Block G to advise them of the filming.
West Bletchley Council and BPARA take part in monthly updates with Emma James at Places Made. Block G owners have a strong track record of re-purposing historical buildings into commercial use, and are in the early stages of considering a high-quality, work-led development for Block G. They have no plans for the Canteen at present, other than to keep the site safe and tidy.
