Please see attached 102-07 Location Plan – Fire and Police Station-Aerial site plan and the link below to view the Draft Brief Consultation Document relating to the above site – you have the opportunity to comment. Public consultation started last Friday and any comments on the Draft Brief must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, 7 October.

From an initial brief review of the document, we note that Point 1.2.6 states that MKDP, part of MK Council, has acquired “the Brunel Shopping Centre, the former Sainsburys’ Car Park & Wilko, to deliver the Town Deal”. The acquisition of the Brunel Centre was well publicised when it happened earlier this year, but this is the first reference to the other 2 sites being acquired by MKDP, and there is no mention on the MKDP website although MK Council has now confirmed that the Brunel Centre acquisition included these 2 sites.
The agenda and papers for the next Town Deal Board meeting on 8 September, to be attended by the BPARA Chair, have not yet been issued, but no doubt this Brief will be on the agenda for discussion. BPARA will study the document in detail before submitting our comments, and these details will be shared on the BPARA website during September.
At the end of the public consultation period, MK Council officers will prepare a report summarising the comments received for consideration by MK Council and the Draft Brief will be amended, as deemed appropriate. It is anticipated that the final version of the Development Brief will then be approved in November. Whilst not a formal planning document, when approved, the final Brief will, potentially, be considered a ‘material consideration’ in the determination of planning applications for the site.
