The Bletchley Park Trust marks the completion of its biggest refurbishment project to date – a £13 million, three-phase project, to open up wartime buildings at the heart of the site for the very first time. Bletchley Park is privileged to have been chosen as the venue for the first AI Safety Summit, hosted by the UK Government. This will take place on 1 and 2 November, and Bletchley Park is closed from 28 October, re-opening on 6 November. Milton Keynes City Council has been working closely with Thames Valley Police on the details of the impact of the event for Bletchley and the wider MK area and more information for local people can be found below.
Local residents will notice an increased police presence in the area as Thames Valley Police work to ensure the event passes safely with minimal disruption to the local community. There are also road and footpath closures around the area from 28 October – residents in Wilton Avenue, Welchman Court and Tiltman Lane are most affected, and they have been kept informed. This included a briefing, also attended by BPARA, in the new Fellowship Auditorium, which will be used for the AI Safety Summit. Security for the Summit is being led by the person who was in charge of Queen Elizabeth’s Funeral and King Charles’ Coronation.
