Milton Keynes City Council is beginning the next exciting stage of the Queensway Public Realm Improvement project on Monday 9 February 2026.
Phase 2 of the project will focus on improving the stretch of Queensway between Cambridge Street and Bedford Street, before work moves on to the junction with Brooklands Road. During this time, this part of Queensway will need to be closed to vehicles so that the team can work safely and efficiently. MKCC want to reassure us that all shops and businesses will remain open, and pedestrians will still be able to move around the area as normal. There is also plenty of free parking available nearby, so you can continue to visit local businesses.
The Elizabeth Square car park will remain closed, as it is currently being used by the construction team. MKCC understand this may be inconvenient, and really appreciate our patience and support while these improvements take place.
