The WBC Clerk has published the report with the results from the informal consultation and is awaiting input from MKCC Highways on the next steps. Residents can see and read the report, including the number of responses per road, at https://www.westbletchleycouncil.gov.uk/2026/06/results-of-consultation-on-possible-parking-controls-in-west-bletchley/
Due to the 50% response threshold not being met, it is difficult for the WBC to introduce measures which will have an adverse impact on some residents (e.g. a permit scheme or daytime parking restrictions), as there is an insufficient response to create a mandate for such as measures to be introduced. However, WBC’s Environment Committee resolved for officers from MKCC and WBC to engage further to identify any areas with clear local support for restrictions or access protection measures, where pockets of support within a larger area have shown to have a clear preference for some kind of restrictions.
Further engagement with those streets where a large majority of residents have voted for new restrictions is proposed, to develop a more local solution to the parking impacts currently being experienced on those streets. This includes some streets with a junction on Sherwood Drive and some roads in the vicinity of Wilton Hall. When identifying those streets to be part of more local changes, it will be important to predict what alternative parking locations may be affected, and to consider additional controls to manage any reasonably anticipated wider impacts.
New restrictions in areas such as Welchman Court and Tiltman Lane will require engagement with landowners in these areas, as some parking areas remain unadopted highway, and permission for the MKCC to enforce restrictions.
