BPARA held their first face to face AGM in 3 years on Tuesday, 17 May, at 7pm in Block C/Exhibition Entrance of Bletchley Park. Prior to the meeting, BPARA members, who were joined by COBRA members plus representatives from West Bletchley Council and Bletchley Shed (formerly known as Men in Sheds) who work closely with, and support BPARA, were able to tour and get a taste of the newly opened Intelligence Factory and Art of Data Exhibition in Block A. Benjamin Greenwold, who represents Bletchley Park Holdings, the owners of the Wartime Canteen and G Block, also attended.
Following the customary AGM business matters, John Cove, from MK Dons and Town Deal Board Chair, Iain Standen, Bletchley Park CEO, and Alex Warner, Principal of the newly-opened Institute of Technology briefed members on the Bletchley & Fenny Stratford Town Deal projects and answered questions. Paul Hammond and Matthew Clarke, MK Council Planning Department, who work with the Town Deal Board, spoke about the Central Bletchley Urban Design Framework Supplementary Planning Document (‘SPD’) which will govern regeneration in Central Bletchley and the Buckingham Road/Sherwood Drive area. Town Deal projects are currently in their early stages and more information will follow. To view the presentations from the AGM, please see links below.
BPARA is grateful to Iain Standen and his team at Bletchley Park for hosting the meeting, providing the tour and refreshments, and for their ongoing support of BPARA.
